KARMA IS SUPREME
Karma (कर्म), is a Sanskrit word derived from Hindu religious beliefs of, principal of cause and effect.
Each day we woke up in morning, go to school/ college/ office, meet so many people and ultimately get back to our home and finally sleep. We repeat this process every day. Infact, whatever we do, speak or thinks, is going to affect our life, according to “Karma”.
We encounter so many needy people, but if we don’t have time to help that person, how can you say you have done a good thing. There may be a shortage of time, but, if we are in the same condition, what we would expect from other people? We would have thought, someone would come, in spite of being busy, and would help us. Infact, busy is no excuse. With the invention of smartphones and bikes/cars, the world has been never like before. Everyone is busy, and there comes the excuse of not helping someone.
Example 1
There are two types of crimes, one is direct and other is indirect. Imagine a 6 feet tall person is beating a girl on the road. He is muscular and powerful. No doubt, he is committing a direct crime or sin. Now, let’s assume, you are watching that scene when going to office. You are 5 feet tall, slim and weaker than the criminal beating the girl.
Now, it would be foolishness, if you fight alone with that criminal. Because he is powerful than you and you cannot beat him. But you can call police, you can shout for help and try to gather so many people. If you are not doing anything and simply moves forward, then, you are committing indirect crime, and you just got involved with Karma.
Example 2
Let’s explore another example. Someone clicked intimate scenes of a girl and uploaded them on Internet. No doubt, this is a direct crime. He will have to face the consequences sooner or later in life. Now, if we are surfing the Internet and we find those pics or videos, what should we do? Should we enjoy those private moments, which doesn’t belong to anyone, except that girl? Or should we forward those pictures and videos to our friend circle?
These all would also be direct crime. The right thing in that situation is to report those pics to the website and feel extremely sorry, for accidently seeing that crap. Again, if you are not doing anything, you are doing indirect crime. That’s how Karma works. We are involved in each and everything we see, we speak, or we act.
“What goes around, comes around”? Well, that’s the essence of karma. It is the universal force that determines the consequences of our actions. It’s like a cosmic scale that weighs the good and bad deeds we do and then delivers rewards or punishments accordingly.
The Law of Cause and Effect
Karma is the Nature. It never forgets, it never forgives. Nature has no heart, no feelings, hence, if we commit a crime and then cry in front of God, it does not mean our crime will be forgiven. We can only regret and try to do as many good as we can, to that person whom we created harm. That is the problem with Karma, and that’s why the world is full of problems everywhere. Once the arrow has left the bow, it can never come back. Same way, any of our actions cannot be undone. We can only improve our future, keeping the guilt in our mind and heart.
If you are an Atheist ( नास्तिक ) and you don’t believe in existence of Supreme power, you can ask yourselves some questions: –
- Who is responsible for birth and death in the world?
- Why were you not born in a millionaire family?
- Why are some people born with physical disabilities?
- In an accident, why some people survive, and some people couldn’t, in spite of travelling in same bus or train?
- And many more. I would be covering this topic in another blog post.
Explanation
“You reap what you sow.” This means that one’s actions or behaviors will eventually have consequences, good or bad, which directly relate to the actions or behaviors themselves. If we do something positive, like helping others or showing kindness, we create good karma. And as a result, we can expect positive things to come our way.
On the other hand, if we engage in negative behavior, such as lying, cheating, or hurting others, we generate bad karma. And as the saying goes, “What goes around, comes around.” Sooner or later, the negative energy we put out into the world will come back to us in some form or another. Have you ever experienced anything, like, you were stuck in the middle of something, and some unexpected events occur and the issue gets resolved. I have experienced so many things, good and bad, which were related to Karma.
Breaking the Cycle
Understanding karma can be a powerful tool for personal growth and self-improvement. By recognizing the impact of our actions, we can make conscious choices to create more positive karma in our lives.
Here are a few ways to break the cycle of negative karma:
- Practice mindfulness: By being aware of our thoughts, words, and actions, we can ensure that we are acting in alignment with our values and creating positive energy.
- Show compassion: Treating others with kindness and empathy not only helps them but also helps us create positive karma. It also creates good vibes inside our body, and we stay happy.
- Take responsibility: Acknowledging our mistakes and making amends is an important step in breaking the cycle of negative karma. It shows that we are willing to learn from our actions and grow as individuals.
- Forgive and let go: By forgiving others and letting go of past hurts, we can free ourselves from the burden of negative karma. Forgiving is a method of regretting for our sins, we have committed in past. As i said earlier, we cannot be free from our sins, but we can minimize the potential damage by keeping our past actions in mind, and becoming a completely different person, a Good person.
Embracing the Power of Karma
While some may see karma as a form of cosmic justice, it’s important to remember that it’s not about punishment or reward. Karma is simply a natural law that helps maintain balance in the universe. It has nothing to do with religion, race or which place you reside on earth. It is for everyone.
By understanding and embracing the power of karma, we can become more conscious of our actions and their consequences. We can strive to create positive energy in the world and, in turn, attract positivity into our own lives.
So, the next time you find yourself at a crossroads, remember the power of karma. Choose actions that align with your values and watch as the universe responds in kind.
